Apple Room

Apple is a bright, colourful and airy room with a happy, bubbly and friendly atmosphere. The room offers a wide range of activities linked to The Early Years Foundation Sage. These include messy, creative and imaginative play; as well as using construction and problem solving toys and games. These are aimed to stimulate and enhance the children's personal, social, emotional and fine motor skills as well as vocabulary.

Apple room is where the children's language and communication develops; from babbling, to a few words, to forming sentences. We encourage this by offering 'circle time' where children can take part in activities such as flash cards, stories, rhymes, songs, activity bags along with other language and problem solving games and tasks.

Apple room introduces children to the early stages of potty training. We offer children the chance to sit on the potty/toilet at each nappy change. Children are praised and encouraged to take part.

We have a large, open outdoor area with direct access from our room where the children enjoy playing and exploring, as well as developing their gross motor skills.

We fully endorse OFSTED's requirement for the children to experience outdoors so wellington boots are perfect for wet, rainy or snowy days!
