Oak Room

Oak Room caters for children from the age of two and a half years up to four years. Children are offered structured learning to help to prepare them for pre-school. Members of staff organise a range of carefully planned activities and in addition, there is a whole host of free play activities. Together, these help the children to achieve their individual potential. Oak Room is split into seven areas of learning in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements.

Oak children take part in a wide range of activities including (but not limited to) musical movement, music, French, table top games, puzzles, stories, singing, interactive computing, imaginative play and cooking, as well as exploring their environment inside and out.

Practitioners work closely with children and their parents to develop a learning journal for of each child's personal progress, which continues to be monitored through observations. Child achievements are recorded on tablet computers linked to our secure database.
